Maui's Goat Cheese Discovered
I always bring my current issue of ISLANDS on vacation with me to get ideas for future trips. My daughter and I were recently at the Kona International Airport on the Big Island of Hawaii, waiting for our flight to Maui, when I came across the article about the Surfing Goat Dairy on Maui ("Say Cheese," November 2008). Your great articles and fabulous photos always inspire me to try new places. -- Terri Huber, Morris Plains , New Jersey
Best, Yes ... But Caribbean?
I love 9 Beaches on Bermuda Island. I got married there in 2006, and I'm thrilled it's gracing the cover of ISLANDS (November 2008). However, I think it's odd the text above it reads "Best of the Caribbean" since Bermuda is actually in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea. -- Emily Lovely, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Editor's note: We were expecting your letter, Emily. While the Bermuda Islands are not geographically Caribbean, we tried to explain our reasoning in that issue by saying it's "the Caribbean vibe's northernmost point." Bermuda embodies the Caribbean characteristics we love -- an easygoing lifestyle, a blend of cultures and convenient access from mainland U.S.
Kodak Moment -- ISLANDS-Style
On a recent trip to Ireland we took a side trip to Achill Island, which is on the north- western side of the country. The sun was absolutely brilliant that day, the surf a deep, beautiful blue and the grass a stunning emerald green. I couldn't help grabbing the latest copy of ISLANDS out of my backpack and getting a photo (right) next to the cliffs. Keep the great information and stunning photography coming! -- Shawn Branch, Rising Sun, Maryland

Location, Location, LocationMy family and I recently relaxed for a week on Exuma in the Bahamas. It was especially enjoyable to read the ISLANDS article "What We Love About the Caribbean" (November 2008) while we were at this destination, which we thought should have been included on that list. We thorougly enjoyed the slow pace and easygoing vibe. The secret beaches we found on Little Exuma were amazing. -- Margi Zearley, Tucson, Arizona
Editor's note: Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip, Margi. If you'd like to see those beaches on the 2009 Best of the Caribbean list, enter our "What Do You Love About the Caribbean?" contest.
What's Next Winner
Alison George of Wilmington, North Carolina, first read about Dominica in ISLANDS magazine and then traveled to the Caribbean island in May 2008 . "No other island I have been to can compare with its lushness or fauna," she says. Her firsthand knowledge of Dominica helped her identify Jungle Bay Resort & Spa as the mystery resort pictured on the "Guess What's Next" page of the November 2008 issue. George wins a prize package courtesy of ISLANDS. To enter this issue's contest, see what's in store for the March issue by identifying the photo on page 104, or click here.
Clarification
In the article "What We Love About the Caribbean" in November 2008, the description of Bequia's Moonhole peninsula should have mentioned Tranquility Villa and Burke House, which have electricity thanks to solar and wind power.
