A Dynamic Mix of Cultures and Islands
Malaysia is a rich and intriguing blend of multiple cultures and histories, dating back centuries as a dynamic port of trade. Notable islands of this nation in Southeast Asia include Penang, off the mainland peninsula near the border with Thailand, and the northern portion of Borneo.
On the east coast of Malaysia in the South China Sea there are smatterings of islands. Lang Tengah Island is a hidden paradise not far from its more popular sister island of Redang, but the beaches of Lang Tengah see fewer crowds. Pasir Besar means long beach, literally, so you'll have a great sandy stretch to yourself. There's also hilly, tropical rainforest to hike.
