You may have seen this boulderstrewn beach in the British Virgin Islands before. But to see the Baths National Park like it’s pictured here, find the right spot — at the right time. Start your journey toward this forest of granite by making your way to San Juan, Puerto Rico. From there, it’s just 45 minutes to the island of Tortola on board one of American Eagle’s regular flights. Skip the 30-minute ferry to Virgin Gorda’s southwest coast, and instead arrange for a chartered sailboat to take you the long way. Have your captain stop at a few of the countless picturesque moorings — from the charming mariner’s village at Soper’s hole to the resort-chic scene on Peter Island. That way, when you do arrive at the Baths, the sun (and crowds) will be fading. With the Caribbean’s most iconic beach all to yourself, crawl through sandy grottoes, swim in sheltered lagoons, climb onto house-size boulders and snap perfectly lit photos like this one. The hardest thing to time will be your exit. bvitourism.com
