L'Oreal Heiress Sells Island Paradise For $94 Million

France's richest woman has just sold her island paradise in the Seychelles for three times more than she paid for it. Liliane Bettencourt, the L'Oreal heiress, is the center of a corruption investigation involving former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Mrs Bettencourt sold her island for £60 million to a registered conservation business linked to the Swiss Save Our Seas foundation. The closing price rung in at £42 million higher than the islands original purchase price. In addition to D'arros island, numerous nearby islands were also sold to private buyers. Mrs. Bettencourt owe's £8 million in unpaid taxes to the Seychelles government.
