Hawaii's Real Hula
It seemed a simple assignment for veteran photographer Jen Judge: Go to the Big Island and shoot Hawaii’s most iconic hula festival. After all, Jen has travelled the world. She found real mermaids off South Korea, trudged through the BVI without a boat, and even uncovered why Philippine cuisine isn’t mainstream here at home. Hawaii’s hula? Easy … Right?

Island Cocktails: Honolulu Mai Tai
At Celebrity Chef Alan Wong's restaurant The Pineapple Room in Honolulu, they call this cocktail the "Locavore Mai Tai" because it's made with Big Island macadamia nuts, locally distilled Maui rum, fresh local pineapples, organic Poamoho Farms limes, and Maui sugar. We've adapted the recipe slightly, so that you can enjoy the flavors of Hawaii no matter where you are.
Review: Sleep Tight with the Wave Cave
When I was a teenager, no beach was too far. No bed was no problem. So long as surfable waves unfurled offshore, I’d happily sleep on the sand. Now I wouldn’t dare. And with the WaveCave, I don’t have to. The travel-ready surfboard bag, made from durable, high-quality materials, unzips into a tent, complete with a mattress and waterproof canopy. Pure luxury for a surfing teen; pure relief for an aging 40-year-old. —Eddy Patricelli

ISLANDS Photo Contest Picture of the Day: "Heading Home from Deployment"
We just couldn't click past Joshua Hensley's amazing aerial view of Wake Island, Hawaii. "We were heading home after being deployed for 6 months and our last stop was Wake Island. Took this photo right before we refueled the Harriers in the picture in the air."
The Best Tables for Two
These six island spaces are designed with couples in mind — a table on the beach in the Turks & Caicos, a table by the fire on Sardinia or one at the end of a wooden walkway over the water and under the stars in Maui. Read how each place combines intimate atmosphere with innovative cuisine for amazing meals and unforgettable moments.
Review: Booq's Cobra Pack
Don’t call it a backpack. Booq’s Cobra pack is like Fort Knox for your electronics. These days, travelers tend to bring more electronics than underwear on trips. The pack’s waterproof zippers, rugged nylon exterior, water-resistant rubberized bottom and rigid-frame laptop compartment lined with soft fabrics let you rest easy when the flight attendant forces you to stuff your bag in a tiny overhead bin.

ISLANDS Photo Contest Picture of the Day: "Sunset-Main"
Douglass Tribull's image of silhouetted palm trees against an orange sunset is so classic Caribbean that I wish I had it on a T-shirt. Can you guess what island it is? Get the answer here.
