Hamilton Island is located in the Whitsunday group of islands just off the Whitsunday Coast and at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef. To reach Hamilton Island, you can fly direct to Hamilton Island Airport from most major Australian cities or by boat transfer (30 minutes) from Shute Harbour. The Reef View Hotel features extremely spacious well appointed rooms either overlooking tropical gardens or the breathtaking vista of the Coral Sea. Hotel facilities include Restaurant, Lounge & Bar, exclusive 35m wet-edge pool, Tour Desk and Porters Desk. Hamilton Island offers 7 styles of accommodation, 10 restaurants, 6 bars, 7 pools, 24 specialty shops and boutiques, Marina Village, Medical Centre, Koala Gallery and Wildlife Experience, Chapel, Beautician and Hairdresser, Post Office, Relaxation Centre, Babysitting and Childcare. Some of the 40 different activities on offer include, Cruises to the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach, Gymnasium, Scuba Diving, Mini Golf and Golf Driving Range, Bushwalking, Safari Tours, Sea Kayaking, scenic flights and Dinner Cruises.All guests receive complimentary transfers from Hamilton Island Airport to their hotel. The guest shuttle meets every flight.Hamilton Island's power service will be upgraded. Works are scheduled to commence at the Reef View Hotel between 16 November and 20 December 2009. The main dates for works will be 23 November to 12 December, which will affect the Reef View Hotel driveway. We expect the work being carried out to cause minimal disruption to the guest holiday experience and that the time of greatest impact will be on 1 & 2 December when some noise will occur.
