ISLANDS Debuts World's Most Beautiful iPad Magazine

Inspiring travel in a whole new way, Bonnier's ISLANDS Magazine has launched its Premiere Edition for the iPad. The ISLANDS storefront app, available in Apple's App Store, includes the Premiere Edition as a free download plus a free wallpaper edition of editors' favorite island photos.

Overall, the experience is a dream vacation in app form. “We are thrilled to bring our vivid photography and immersive storytelling to a new platform and a new level,” says Eddy Patricelli, editor-in-chief and brand director of ISLANDS. “Capitalizing on the iPad’s stunning screen and fresh interactive possibilities, our creative team was energized to bring these islands to life like never before.”

While the ISLANDS Premiere Edition has intuitive no-instructions navigation, sharing via e-mail and Facebook, an interactive map in the table of contents, on-island videos, touchable stories, web archives and more, the photos are the stars. Feature articles on the “Secret Caribbean,” the Marshall Islands and the Galapagos Islands showcase visual designs created exclusively for the iPad. The advertising in the Premiere Edition also has an abundance of photo galleries of island resorts and destinations. “I know we’re just starting to tap the potential of mobile devices like the iPad,” Patricelli says. “Readers of our Premiere Edition have a ‘tap to e-mail’ button to send me instant e-mail feedback as we look to serve them better and better.”

Future iPad editions will include destination guides, themed collections like ISLANDS Top 10 lists and more. Link to the app and get updates at islands.com/ipad.
