Avoid These Spots On Your Next Vacation In Trinidad And Tobago

VACATIONS
Hundreds of thousands visit Trinidad and Tobago yearly for its beautiful waters, friendly locals, and lively carnival culture. However, the country can be dangerous.
The U.S. Department of State issued a Level 3 advisory, the second highest, advising tourists to "reconsider travel" due to a range of violent crimes, including murder and robbery.
If you choose to visit, there are places you should avoid. The State Department bans its personnel from visiting neighborhoods of the country's capital, Port of Spain.
These neighborhoods include Laventille, Beetham, Sea Lots, Cocorite, and Queens' Park Savannah. At night, it also includes downtown, Fort George overlook, and all beaches.
The United Kingdom government also advises caution in Port of Spain neighborhoods, urging travelers not to accept services from private vehicles or so-called "maxi taxis."
The State Department offers other advice, such as leaving expensive items at home and being careful on online platforms like dating apps and while using ATMs.
