VACATIONS
The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs is a resort featuring pink stucco architecture, incredible Italian restaurants, and beautiful lake views reminiscent of Italy's Lake Como.
This high-end destination at the base of Cheyenne Mountain was made in 1918 by wealthy philanthropists Spencer and Julie Penrose. Italian artisans even helped create the interiors.
Guests can take a boat out onto Cheyenne Lake and see white swans. There is also swan decor throughout the hotel, and the resort’s cafe serves a "s'mores" swan.
For more animal encounters, go to Seven Falls, a series of stunning waterfalls in a box canyon. You can also zipline across the area with The Broadmoor Soaring Adventure.
For on-site activities, The Broadmoor has two world-class golf courses, tennis and pickleball courts, a seasonal pool with two water slides, and a massive spa.
If you want to lean into the Lake Como feel, have dinner at Ristorante Del Lago. It has fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and an impressive selection of Italian wines.
