Alberta, Canada's Waterton Lakes National Park is a natural expanse that has everything you need for the perfect vacation without the crowds of other national parks.
Waterton Lakes National Park is in the Canadian Rockies and has alpine lakes to explore. Visit in the spring for a wildflower bloom, or visit in the fall to see lots of wildlife.
The park is also home to waterfalls, 155 miles of hiking and biking trails (on which you can ski and snowshoe in the winter), campgrounds, and the Prince of Wales Hotel.
The park's lakes are gorgeous, and visitors can take a boat out on the Waterton Lakes or visit Emerald Bay for swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, and scuba diving.
The entrance fees to the park are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and free for kids. Campgrounds can be reserved and have amenities like washrooms, showers, and food lockers.
