Don't Make These Mistakes When Reclining Your Seat On The Plane

Airplane seats are uncomfortable, especially in economy, and there are unspoken rules around reclining your seat. In essence, these rules come down to respect for other people.
Before you recline, it's always a good idea to ask the person behind you, as you’ll be taking up more of their space. If they ask you not to, it’s best to respect them.
You can also ask if you can recline for a limited period of time instead of the entire flight. Remember that, even if you do ask nicely, you may not get the response you want.
If you really want to recline, consider choosing the back row on the plane so there’s no one behind you. You can also fly at times when there may be fewer people on the plane.
If you're worried you'll be asked not to recline, sit in the window seat so you can lean on the wall. You can also upgrade to a seat in business or first class for more room.
