Enjoy Incredible Desert Landscapes At This Underrated Texas Park

Monahans Sandhills State Park in Texas is filled with gorgeous sand dunes, but despite its incredible beauty, the park only has about 45,000 visitors a year.
Reviewers on Tripadvisor agree that Monahans Sandhills State Park is a must-see. Visitors can roam the dunes at their leisure or slide down them with a sand disk.
You can traverse the park's terrain on horseback, as an 800-acre area is reserved for equestrian use. You'll also find several picnic spots scattered throughout the area.
Monahans Sandhills State Park opens daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Dunagan Visitor Center opens from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and offers restrooms, a museum, and a gift shop.
Monahans Sandhills State Park charges a $4 admission fee, and pets are welcome but must be leashed. The park has 25 camping sites with electricity that cost $15 per night.
