Florida's Fort Lauderdale's Beach Is Popular But Also Dangerous

VACATIONS

Fort Lauderdale Beach is popular, but it has been ranked as the 10th most dangerous beach in the U.S. due to its history of hurricanes, surf zone fatalities, and shark attacks.
The City of Fort Lauderdale recommends only swimming when you're sober, with your friends, and in areas where lifeguards are on duty. Don't go out further than you can swim.
The beach is considered dangerous because of the number of hurricanes that hit the shores there. Strong winds over the ocean can also cause rip currents.
There have been unprovoked shark attacks at this popular beach. While it's not the Great White Capital, it's the riskiest in the world when it comes to getting bitten by a shark.
