VACATIONS

There is no shortage of ways to enjoy Lake Michigan, and if you want to experience a charming coastal city, head to Charlevoix, Michigan, which only has 2,000 residents.
Charlevoix is a unique city because it has Lake Michigan to the west, Lake Charlevoix in the east, and Round Lake in the center of town. Round Lake connects the other two.
Besides all of the water activities you can do, Charlevoix has activities for every season. In the winter, you can go skiing, sledding, or ice skating at Mt. McSauba.
The small town has boutique shops for souvenirs, clothing, art, and crafts. Charlevoix even boasts "mushroom houses," built by Earl Young in the first decades of the 1900s.
