Near Niagara Falls, there are hiking trails, places to go bouldering, and special exhibitions. Visitors can embark on guided hikes during the warmer months.
Niagara Parks' Botanical Gardens has about 100 acres of landscaped gardens. There is also a rose garden with over 2,000 roses and fine floral arrangements at Queen Victoria Park.
There is a zipline over the river that flies past the falls and down into the gorge. The Whirlpool Aero Car gives visitors another opportunity to soar through the air.
There is a designated Niagara Wine Trail in New York State. It extends 60 miles and features varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling.
Skylon Tower not only has an observation deck for viewing the falls, but two dining floors more than 700 feet above the bottom of the gorge. One even revolves.
Buffalo can be reached in about 30 minutes by car from the American side. It's a fun place to explore, with great art, lots of entertainment, and interesting neighborhoods.
Visitors to Buffalo can find a selection of places to try buffalo wings on the Buffalo Wing Trail, marvel at buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and watch live music shows.
