VACATIONS

Located about an hour's drive from Waikiki, Kahana Bay Beach Park on the island of Oahu is a hidden gem that stands out as one of Hawaii's most beautiful yet uncrowded beach parks.
While it is popular with locals
on weekends, the park sees low numbers of visitors during
weekdays, ensuring a peaceful
experience away from the
tourist crowds.
The beach park is free to visit and offers amenities such as picnic tables, restrooms, drinking water, a boat ramp, and outdoor showers, though there are no lifeguards on duty.
Visitors can enjoy various activities, including stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, grilling, fishing (with permits), and even surfing during the winter months.
The picturesque setting of the beach, framed by the lush Ko'olau Mountains and ironwood trees, provides a perfect backdrop for picnics or simply hanging a hammock to read a book.
For those interested in exploring further, the nearly 5,300-acre Ahupua'a Kahana State Park across the road offers additional hiking trails and a small campground.
