TSA’s 311 has very strict rules when it comes to liquids, but like most rules, there are exceptions. In August 2006, they banned liquids of any kind from being part of carry-ons.
A month later, the ban was lifted, but passengers had to use 3.4 ounces or 100-milliliter containers. Anything “medically necessary” is exempted from the rule.
This includes breastmilk, formula, and juice consumed by toddlers, along with items like ice packs and freezer packs. Liquid teethers and baby food can also be brought on board.
If your health condition necessitates liquid medication, they generally allow passengers to bring them on in “reasonable quantities.” It extends to contact solutions and vitamins.
