Mexico's Marietas Island Is The Perfect Secluded Beach Getaway

Playa del Amor in Mexico's Marietas is a hidden cove. Its aerial view is somewhat of an internet sensation, as the sandy cavern has a natural sunroof covered in lush vegetation.
Marietas Islands is uninhabited and is home to tons of birds, plants, and animals. You can get to the islands by boat, after which you have to swim or kayak to the beach.
Only around 116 people are allowed to enter Playa del Amor daily. Swimming to the small beach will take you through a water tunnel where you’ll experience unbelievable views.
Once you get there, you’re welcome to explore the flora and fauna, snorkel the coral reef area, sunbathe in the sandbank, swim in the clear water, or simply lounge in the shade.
Be prepared for crowds, and know that you’ll only have 30 minutes to explore. Third-party tours of the beach, including snorkeling equipment, snacks, and water, cost around $238.
