Michigan's Torch Lake Looks Like A Caribbean Paradise

By Nina Phillips

VACATIONS

Michigan’s Torch Lake is a massive, crystal clear lake. Its transparent water and white sand are so amazing that the lake is sometimes compared to the Caribbean.
Torch Lake has an average depth of 111 feet, making it the largest lake in Michigan by volume. The water is crystal clear, allowing you to see all the way to the bottom.
On sunny days, the water is a bright turquoise blue, just like those famous waters in the Caribbean. On cloudy and rainy days, it often takes on a unique green color.
Visitors to the lake can swim, boat, explore, and snorkel to their heart's delight. Paddleboarding, jet skis, and kayaking are also optional activities to partake in on the water.
The sandbar in the middle of Torch Lake is amazing to visit, but there are only certain locations and times where you can. Plan your trip in advance if you want to lounge here.
