Save Precious Suitcase Space By Rolling Your Clothes Instead Of Folding

When packing clothes, there are space-saving tricks that allow you to fit more items in a smaller space, like the Ranger Roll, which both saves space and prevents wrinkles.
This military technique locks your garment into that shape so it doesn't unroll when you open your suitcase. For a shirt, start by laying it flat and smoothing out wrinkles.
Flip the lower two inches inside out and fold both arms and sides into the center. Turn the shirt around so the collar faces you and begin rolling tightly, all the way to the hem.
Finally, use the folded bottom piece to wrap around the roll to lock it in place. You can also lay your underwear and socks on top of the shirt and do the technique around them.
For pants, lay them flat and flip the waistband over, leaving a few more inches. Fold the pants into the center, roll them from the bottom up, and tuck the flap around them.
For jackets, fold up the hem to the point where it reaches the top of the pockets, fold in the sleeves in, fold both sides into the center, roll, and lock with the flap.
