VACATIONS

Lake Superior is a huge, startlingly clear lake. The Lake Superior Circle Tour offers an incredible road trip that lets you see all of Superior's offerings.
After admiring the lake's Canadian side in Ontario, you'll see some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Midwest while driving through Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
In Michigan, check out Whitefish Point, a long peninsula that extends into Superior. You can walk on the beach, admire the waves, and observe Superior's oldest lighthouse.
Thirty minutes away from Whitefish Point is Tahquamenon Falls State Park, home to the largest waterfalls in Michigan. This is a great place to stretch your legs and take a hike.
To the west, you can visit Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, famous for its sandstone cliffs that tower over the water. You can even stay at the Twelvemile Beach Campground.
In Wisconsin, you'll have the chance to see Lake Superior from the road and the water, and you can even go kayaking in the rocky Apostle Islands.
When you reach Minnesota, park your car at Tettegouche State Park and take in the lake views from the tall cliffs. This area is great for rock climbing.
