The Canadian Ski Town That's Just As Adventuresome In Summertime

VACATIONS

Only 75 miles from the city of Vancouver is the town of Whistler, which sits at the base of two mountains — Blackcomb and Whistler. These mountains make it an iconic winter spot.
Whistler has 32 lifts and over 8,000 acres open for skiing and snowboarding, but the town is just as sensational in the summer. Seasonal workers end up staying for both seasons.
The mountains are great for hikers and mountain bikers. You can rent a bike to get around Whistler or ride around Lost Lake; it's perfect for outdoorsy people.
Those who aren't very outdoorsy can ride the gondolas up the mountains or walk across the Cloudraker Skybridge. The Raven's Eye Cliff Walk goes 40 feet over the edge of West Ridge.
The family-friendly Vallea Lumina on Cougar Mountain is a self-guided walk with lights, projections, and music. You can also go ziplining or take an aerial adventure course.
