Think Twice Before Flying At This Time Of Day During Summer

Meteorologist Chris Bianchi posted a TikTok video, stating, "Never book a flight in the afternoon or especially at night during the summertime months in the United States."
This is primarily due to thunderstorms. "The chances of there being a thunderstorm somewhere in the United States in the afternoon or the evening are pretty high," Bianchi said.
Thunderstorms typically form
under the hot and wet conditions
that are more prevalent later in
the day, which often leads to significant flight delays
and cancellations.
The risks associated with flying through such weather include dangerous turbulence, hail, strong winds, rain, and ice, all of which can compromise the functionality of aircraft.
