Think Twice Before Packing Fragile Items
In Checked Luggage

VACATIONS

When traveling, avoid packing fragile items in your checked luggage because suitcases are often handled roughly by baggage handlers, which can lead to significant damage.
Fragile items like plates or
vases are particularly vulnerable to breaking if not well-packed, so it's best to pack them in your carry-on for a better chance of arriving intact.
Even placing a fragile sticker on your bag doesn't necessarily help. If checking fragile items is unavoidable, there are precautions you can take to minimize the risk of damage.
Wrap the item in bubble wrap, fill any cavities with soft materials, ensure the suitcase is full to prevent movement, and add extra padding with materials like cardboard.
If you're packing fragile items
in your carry-on, place them in
the middle of the bag surrounded
by soft items like a coat or
blanket, and consider using a
hard-case carry-on.
