This Eastern US State Is Being Hailed As One Of The Best For Hikers

VACATIONS

There are gorgeous hiking trails in every U.S. state, but one is hailed as the best. Published to Why This Place, travel blogger Nadia Podrabinek gave Connecticut the top spot.
Connecticut has an average of 1,455 hiking trails per 1,000 square miles and national parks make up 8.5% of its composition. It was ranked the best because of the amount of trails.
Users on Alltrails chose Chauncey Peak Trail as a starting point. It is an hour-long hike that takes you around a still reservoir. It is close to Meriden and can be rocky at times.
For a longer, more relaxing route, Airline State Park Trail by North Windham is perfect. Sleeping Giant Head Blue and Violet Loop is more of a challenge, but has stunning views.
