VACATIONS
You don't have to travel to a tropical destination to see amazing views while scuba diving. If you're looking for a unique place to dive, visit the White Star Quarry in Ohio.
This diving destination is a part of White Star Park in Sandusky County, Ohio. The park also offers swimming, hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and beachside relaxation.
The man-made diving site is 15 acres and isn't as busy as other nearby locations. The water is a beautiful turquoise with visibility up to 40 feet and all sorts of features to see.
At the bottom of the lake, people can find a school bus, an underwater forest, a Frito Lay truck, boats, and a man-made tunnel. On certain days, night explorations are available.
The park allows diving from 8 a.m. until dusk. You can rent all the necessary scuba equipment for $125, and there are diving instructors available if you call ahead.
The cooler months are when the visibility is best, but the summer months are when the concessions are open, where you can get permits and rent diving gear.
