This Utah Hike Is A Less Dangerous Alternative To Zion's Angel Landing
By Laura Zbinden

VACATIONS

Utah's Zion is one of the most-visited national parks in the United States, with Angels Landing being the best-rated hike. However, the trail can be dangerous and crowded.
Luckily, there is a safer and less crowded way to enjoy the beauty of Utah — the Box Canyon trail located in Maple Canyon near the town of Moroni.
Although it may not have the sweeping views you'd get at Zion, it does offer an interesting and otherworldly landscape of slot canyons and giant boulders.
The hike is relatively short at 1.2 miles, but reviewers on AllTrails have described it as "super rad," "awesome," and, most commonly, "fun."
One reason for the positive reviews is the giant boulders that you need to scramble over. At the end of the hike, you will be greeted by a small scalable waterfall.
Unfortunately, Maple's Box Canyon trail is on private property. The owners have continued to allow hikers on the trail, but that could change if visitors aren't respectful.
