Tips For Seamlessly Navigating TSA With Your Service Animal

VACATIONS
Flying with service animals can be tricky. TSA and the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) give guidelines when it comes to service animals that individuals should know.
You and your service animal can go through the standard or PreCheck lines together and be screened together or separately. Your service animal's gear is also up for screening.
As the TSA says, "Please consider using items that have little to no metal. Items that are necessary to maintain control of the service animal do not need to be removed."
When going through security, you must not touch your service dog until inspection is complete. Before going through security, be sure to let your service animal use the bathroom.
The screening process isn't made for dogs, so be prepared to deal with rigamarole. You may be asked for identification materials for your dog or to describe their routine tasks.
