VACATIONS

Michigan has some of the most underrated vacation spots in the U.S., and one of them is the city of Hancock. It is situated on the Keweenaw Waterway on Portage Lake.
You don't have to travel to Northern Europe for a bit of Finland. Hancock has a large number of residents with Finnish ancestry, so it has a European charm.
Finland is renowned for its forests, and like its sister city in Porvoo, Finland, Hancock is surrounded by greenery and water. Visitors can enjoy Hancock's McLain State Park.
Hancock is home to the Finnish American Heritage Center and features the Finlandia Art Gallery. It displays works by Finnish and Finnish-American artists.
Winters in Hancock can get cold and snowy, but it's the best time to visit, so tourists can experience Heikinpäivä. This annual celebration honors Finnish-American culture.
