VACATIONS

Minneapolis, Minnesota, has a thriving music scene, diverse neighborhoods, and excellent food, but what really makes it stand out is how easy it is to get around without a car.
The U.S. is known for being car-dependent, but Minneapolis features over 101 miles of off-street bike trails, 98 miles of bike lanes, and 16 miles of on-street protected bikeways.
The capital city topped Walk Score's 2024 list of the most bikeable cities with a score of 84. Residents and visitors can bike through fantastic parks and green spaces with ease.
Minneapolis is surrounded by an array of lakes and dotted with public gardens, waterfalls, and woodland areas. This means that bikers are often treated to excellent views.
The Midtown Greenway, one of Minneapolis' most popular bike routes, is grade-separated from other streets and is a valuable urban transit artery and recreational through lane.
Another popular pathway is the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway, which consists of around 51 miles of bike trails. Visitors can rent a bike at Tangletown Bikeshop or Angry Catfish.
