The 4th of July is hot. Thankfully, this festive red-, white- and blue-layered frozen drink is the perfect way to cool off. (And get a nice buzz while you’re at it.) It’s basically an adult version of a Slurpee-meets-Bomp Pop hybrid. You know you want one.
Red, White and Blue Vodka Lemonade Slush Drink Recipe
- 9-12 cups of ice, separated
- 1 cup grenadine syrup
- 1 cup Blue Curacao
- 1 cup vodka
- 1 cup lemonade
Add grenadine and three cups of ice to a blender. Use the crush setting to blend, adding an additional cup of ice if necessary to thicken. You want this base layer to be extra thick to hold the top layers. Set aside.
Wash the blender thoroughly. Add Blue Curacao and three cups of ice to a blender. Use the crush setting to blend, adding an additional cup of ice if necessary. This layer should also be pretty thick. Set aside.
Wash the blender thoroughly. Add vodka, lemonade and remaining three cups of ice to the blender and mix until slushy. This layer can be less thick than the previous two layers.
Fill a glass one-third full with the grenadine mixture, add a layer of the Blue Curacao mixture and finish with the vodka lemonade layer. Serve immediately.
