Bird Creek Beach also has a connection to the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself: Elvis Presley filmed parts of his 1962 movie "Follow That Dream" here. The comedy musical follows a group of people who set up a new home on a Florida beach after getting stuck there. Other scenes were filmed on Bird Creek Bridge and down Route 40. The road leading to the beach is named "Follow That Dream Parkway" in its honor.
