Experience
Alyssa started her career in print publication, working for newspapers before shifting toward freelance writing in 2020. This transition enabled her to travel for work, where she gains hands-on experience as a travel journalist. In addition to working as an editor for Islands, she also writes about climate change and fisheries in Alaska. Her bylines have also been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Air Mail, and she is writing a book about human trafficking and disinformation for Rutgers University Press.
Education
Alyssa received her bachelor's degree in journalism from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and obtained a master's degree from the Columbia School of Journalism.
