Foodies Should Flock To Anguilla For The Exclusive Epicurean Festival In May

Local and international chefs will gather to showcase the best of the island’s culinary creativity.

Tucked away in the northern Caribbean, Anguilla is a quiet destination with charming character boasting 33 beaches touted to be among the most beautiful in the world. The island also attracts foodies with a range of culinary-based activities including mining salt from a natural salt pond, learning to make fresh ceviche, fishing from the shore for the night's catch, and visits to local distilleries to enjoy the island's classic rum punch.

Even better, travelers visiting May 11-15 will enjoy the Anguilla Culinary Experience, in which chefs from around the world will gather to celebrate and showcase the island's fresh farm- and sea-to-table ingredients. Many of the top resorts will participate in the event, including Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, Cap Juluca, a Belmond Hotel, Four Seasons Anguilla Resorts & Residences, Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort, Tranquility Beach Anguilla, and Zemi Beach House, among others, as well as award-winning restaurants like Ember, Veya, Tasty's, Celeste, Pimms, Salt, and Stone.

The weeklong celebration will feature three signature events starting with the Ultimate Barefoot Luxury Party at Cap Juluca, a festive Rosé Soirée party at Malliouhana, and a fun-filled Caribbean beach barbeque on Meads Bay.  The beach barbecue will offer something truly special, as chefs from the island's award-winning Anguilla National Culinary Team will compete in a Chopped-style mystery basket competition while guests feast on freshly grilled seafood and ribs. On May 13, chefs from some of the island's most popular restaurants will each host exclusive dinners with wine pairings at their establishments.

Ticket packages include all three signature events as well as credits towards the chef's wine pairing dinners. Guests can opt for a VIP package that includes access to exclusive events including a rum tasting at the famous Zemi Beach House Rhum Room and a special 5-course dinner limited to only 20 guests.

A portion of proceeds from the event will help fund the Anguilla National Culinary Team and other local hospitality training programs for students.
