If you’ve ever wanted to cruise around the world, mark your calendar for the year 2020. That’s when the new 2020 Navigate the World cruise from Regent Seven Seas Cruises sets sail. The 131-night itinerary departs from San Francisco on January 24, 2020, for a voyage of epic proportions, visiting over 30 countries on six continents.
The expedition takes place aboard the all-suite, all-balcony Seven Seas Mariner, which will completes a total refurbishment in April 2018. This cruise-around-the-world itinerary is already available through 2019 on the Seven Seas Navigator, which features 245 suites, but the move to the 350-suite Mariner ensures more people can take advantage of the opportunity.
The cruise stops at ports in Hawaii and the South Pacific, then navigates to Australia, Asia and India. The journey continues around the Arabian Peninsula, and then sails to the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Central America in spring.
Though the price tag for the journey isn’t cheap (fares start around 65K per couple), when you factor in what’s included on the five-month cruise, it’s not a bad deal. This prices covers practically everything: round-trip first-class airfare to San Francisco (book your own flights to save on the cruise fare), meals and beverages (including wine and spirits), ground transportation, laundry service, onboard health care and pre-paid gratuities. Plus, the voyage includes up to 330 shore excursions and special events in certain ports (think a Lord of the Rings-themed dinner in New Zealand and a farm-to-table feast in a 13th-century Tuscan villa).
Want to explore a certain destination for a longer period of time? For an added cost, Overland Programs allow guests to disembark the ship for up to three nights for private group tours of sights like Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal and the Egyptian Pyramids.
