The right shoes are arguably the centerpiece for all travelers. They need to be comfortable enough to wear for long stretches, but capable of holding up to the usual wear-and-tear. And, ideally, easy enough to slip on and off without being a hassle. A good, versatile pair of sandals can meet all these requirements and more.

If these are going to be your go-to travel footwear, you’ll need to make sure they can put up with all the walking they’ll be put through. When you’re shopping, make sure they can hold up against the elements and won’t fall apart if they get exposed to the elements. It’s important that you find a pair that’s made of durable materials that’ll hold up against all the miles you’ll be putting on them – both on the ground and in the air.

No matter how comfortable these sandals may end up feeling, it’s important that you allow some time to break them in. If possible, try and get them a few days before you plan on leaving, that way you can spend some time letting them adapt to the contours of your feet beforehand, as this could save yourself a few blisters along the way.

Obviously, you don’t want to break the bank buying sandals. There are a number of high-end choices out there, but cost might not always mean they’ll work for you. Sure, it’s important to find a pair that not only fits your budget, but they need to be able to take a few nicks and scuffs along the way.
