Club Med Seeks The Ideal Candidate For The 'Ultimate Green Job'
Think you can spend a year at the legendary resort brand’s Punta Cana property? Now’s the chance to prove it.
We've all had that thought: "I could stay here forever." The hallmark of a great resort is making guests wish they never had to leave, that they could forward their mail and tell their bosses they'll be working on island time from here on out. Are we serious about it? Sadly, no. But now Club Med is giving one lucky "employee" the chance to try it. At least for the next 12 months.
The iconic resort brand recently posted the dreamiest dream job anyone could imagine, or rather the "Ultimate Green Job." Earlier this month, Club Med laid out its new social responsibility commitments, vowing to implement more eco-conscious efforts at properties throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada. For example, guests at Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda can now enjoy Beyond Meat with their dining options, and Club Med Cancún is leading the charge to eliminate single use plastic products by providing guests with glass bottles.
The lucky candidate who lands the Ultimate Green Job will play an important role in overseeing these changes (and more) at eight Club Med resorts, all while calling Club Med Punta Cana a home office. Hopping from property to property, this employee will learn about the brand's plans for new food waste management systems, partnerships and efforts for protecting native species, and encouraging guests to participate in special activities like turtle releases and beach cleanups.
It's not all work, though. Obviously, the urge to partake in tropical activities will be through the roof, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the awesome amenities and adventures at each Club Med property. It'll just feel a lot more satisfying this way.
