The Splendor Of Cuba

As travel restrictions to Cuba for US visitors continue to relax, there has been a significant increase in interest in the island, and particularly its historical and cultural aspects. Author Michael Connors turned his attention to the island's architecture in his book The Splendor of Cuba: 450 Years of Architecture and Interiors, touring meticulously preserved historical homes and other residential wonders that present a sharp contrast to the deteriorating buildings sometimes associated with Castro's Cuba. Featuring both interior and exterior shots of buildings and their elements like balconies and courtyards, Connors visited numerous areas of the island, including Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos and others.
