Best All-Inclusive Resort Bars: Islands 2020 All-Inclusive Awards

Lounging poolside, swinging in a hammock on the beach, or enjoying regional cuisine—a handcrafted signature cocktail always makes the occasion better.

Our editors and writers scoured the globe to find the best all-inclusive resorts based on standout offerings, from top-notch dining options and cool bars to over-the-top suites and white-glove butler service. We also asked our readers to vote for their favorites in each category. We're proud to present the winners of the 2020 Islands All-Inclusive Awards.

Many all-inclusive resorts now feature dedicated cocktail programs, skilled mixologists, and premium liquors and ingredients—sure to please with discerning palettes. Guests of these resorts can kick back and relax with a craft cocktail or beer brewed right on site.

Winner, Editors’ Choice: Tres CerveZa’s at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun

With gastropubs and breweries all the rage these days, it makes perfect sense that a resort would cater to the beer loving crowd. At the Hyatt Ziva Cancun—located on a breathtakingly scenic peninsula surrounded by ocean on three sides—guests of the all-inclusive resort can visit the Tres CerveZa's bar, an upscale microbrewery serving up crisp, refreshing housemade cervezas.

The talented onsite brew master is on hand to take guests through the brewing process, and welcome them to sample tasting flights of all of the various beers on tap. Those wanting to nosh while sipping on cervezas can enjoy a menu of small bites to complement the beer selection, including house-made chili pepper and lime grilled Mexican street corn.

Winner, Editors’ Choice: Divi Aruba

For a cocktail program like no other, head to Divi Aruba, where guests can hit up any one of eight bars included in the all-inclusive package. The resort's cocktail curators offer a wide selection of wines and beers, as well as mixed drinks made with only the finest liquors and fresh local ingredients—whether sitting poolside at the Pelican Bar, offering stunning ocean views, or at the Sandpiper Beach Bar, which serves light fare and your fruity cocktails throughout the day.

Our favorite is the Coco Grill Bar, where guests can enjoy a delicious wood-oven pizza in addition to their favorite frozen cocktails. Don't miss out on the "Iguana Runner," a fun, bright green cocktail made of local rum, vodka, pineapple juice and the Dutch-produced Pisang liqueur—a banana and tropical fruit elixir difficult to find outside of the Caribbean. Or try the Aruba Ariba, one of the island's most popular concoctions made with Coecoei liquor found only in Aruba, made with rum and the sap of local agave plants.

Winner, Editors’ Choice: Whale Watchers Bar at the Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos, Mexico

Guests of the Sandos Finisterra all-inclusive resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, can relax at the Whale Watchers Bar—an adult lounge with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, where patrons can watch the whales go by during the Caribbean's winter season. Because as they say, it's not called Whale Watchers Bar for nothing!

After riding the elevator up to the top of the cliff, visitors can expect to spend an unforgettable evening. Inside, the large windows of the Whale Watchers Bar look out over the water from the interior, featuring modern style and cozy sitting areas.

Although some may prefer to enjoy their drinks out on the bar's spacious terrace, overlooking views of the resort and the Pacific waters beyond. If visibility is a problem, a pool table provides additional entertainment.

Readers’ Choice: Martini at Excellence Riviera Cancun, Riviera Maya, Mexico

The posh Excellence Riviera Cancun adults only all-inclusive resort boasts eight gourmet international restaurants and ten stylish lounges, so there's a little something for everyone to enjoy. However, guests would be wise not to pass on Martini, a bar located in the central building of the hotel, just next to the lobby, which is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.—because it's never too early for a martini when you're on vacation!

Given the convenient location, it's perfect as a departure point of any given excursion to an evening meeting place to kick off a fun night. Insiders suggest asking for the bar's extensive martini menu, which features a number of classic and signature cocktails.
