Tropical Drink Recipe: Cable Car Cocktail

SERVES 1

  • 1 1/2 oz. Captain Morgan spiced rum
  • 3/4 oz. Orange Curacao
  • 1 1/2 oz. fresh lemon sour

Fill a mixing glass with ice and add the rum, Curacao and lemon sour. Shake until well-blended. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (optionally, frosted with sugar and cinnamon, as below) and garnish with an orange spiral. To cut a fresh orange spiral, use a citrus zester, also known as a channel knife.

To properly sugar-cinnamon frost your cocktail glass, The Modern Mixologist suggests you chill the glass, then rub the rim approximately ¾ inch in depth with a lemon wedge, and dip into a bowl of super-fine sugar blended with cinnamon.
