The Punta Cana International Airport has direct flights from U.S. airports, including a very quick 2 hours, 20 minutes direct flight from Miami on American Airlines. Puntacana Resort and Club is credited with launching this part of the Dominican Republic as a tourism destination. That beautiful resort complex is very close to the airport. Now resorts ring the beach, wrapping further north along the shore. Just south of the Puntacana Resort is Cap Cana, the latest resort area with all-new offerings and further features in the works.
