Downtown Orlando's Stylish Hotel Is An Indulgent Florida Stay In The Heart Of The City
When it comes to American vacation cities, Orlando always seems to stand out above the rest. Some say it's the "happiest holiday destination" with green spaces, sun, and walkability — not to mention some of the best theme parks in the world. While it may be easy to pick Orlando for your next trip, choosing a hotel can be overwhelming. But, if you're looking to spend most of your time downtown, away from the crowds and bustle of Disney and Universal Studios, the Grand Bohemian Orlando Autograph Collection might be a worthy contender.
Although there are many hotels and resorts in Orlando, including options next to the Grand Bohemian, this place stands out, thanks to its luxurious design and amenities. We rated it among the five best Marriott properties in Orlando, thanks to stellar guest reviews. The 4-star property has over 3,000 Google reviews, averaging 4.4 stars.
Stand-out features include a modern, swanky atmosphere and a super convenient location. While other hotels serve as little more than a home base from which to explore the city, the Grand Bohemian invites you to relax and unwind. So, let's check in and get to know this hotel a little better.
What to expect when staying at the Grand Bohemian Orlando
There are three accommodation options available to book at the Grand Bohemian. The first is a standard room, which is perfect if you're traveling solo or with a partner and want something simple yet elegant. Even this room has 350 square feet of space, so you probably won't feel cramped. Next, you can upgrade to a suite, which spans over 600 square feet, and you can book it with or without an in-room jacuzzi. Finally, for the ultimate luxury experience, the Presidential suite overlooks the city from the 15th floor and comes with a separate dining and living room for you and your guests to spread out.
Although you can just relax in your room and marvel at the views (especially if you're on an upper floor), the Grand Bohemian has other options where you can spread out and enjoy yourself. First, there's Altira, the rooftop pool and lounge. The pool is reserved for hotel guests, but the bar is open to the public during designated hours. Next, there's the Bösendorfer Lounge, named after the piano centerpiece inside. Here, you can enjoy cocktails and small bites, surrounded by lovely music and chic decor.
Finally, for a luxurious meal to accompany your stay, try the on-site restaurant La Boheme. Here, you can indulge in breakfast, lunch, or dinner. On Sundays, you can enjoy the jazz brunch, featuring bottomless mimosas and menu items like crab legs, fresh oysters, and both an omelet and carving station. During the rest of the week, classic dishes such as smoked yellowfin tartare, Mediterranean salmon, or filet mignon are on offer.
Adding the Grand Bohemian to your next Orlando getaway
Because the Grand Bohemian is centrally located in downtown Orlando, it's only 20 minutes north of the airport, making it even more convenient to reach once you're in town. That said, because the hotel is relatively small, it has only valet parking, which some guests remark can be pricey. However, unless you're planning on venturing outside of the city, the Grand Bohemian is situated near one of Orlando's most walkable neighborhoods, Lake Eola Park.
Lake Eola is about a 16-minute walk from the hotel, or you can take a five-minute taxi or Uber back and forth. The lake and park are always a treat, thanks to the gorgeous greenery, the downtown backdrop, and the swans swimming in the lake. Visiting at night is particularly enjoyable, thanks to the city's lights reflecting on the water.
If you're in need of groceries and other essentials during your stay, there's a Publix supermarket across from Lake Eola. Alternatively, the Grand Bohemian is close to numerous restaurants, such as Kres Chophouse for steaks and other meats, or Solita Tacos and Margaritas if you're looking for Mexican cuisine in a lively space. Finally, the hotel is across the street from the Dr. Philips Center for the Performing Arts, which has a vibrant outdoor space and hosts various shows and events throughout the year.
