Not Marriott, Not Hyatt: This Hotel Chain Has The Best Hotel Credit Card

Savvy frequent travelers know that one of the best ways to stretch your travel budget is to use points and miles, and the fastest way to earn said points and miles is via a credit card welcome bonus. After you earn that bonus, though, the card then needs to continue to pull its weight in perks and benefits, or else you need to cancel it. Most of us don't want to face the hassle and emotional manipulation that comes with trying to cancel a credit card, so before that amazing welcome bonus sucks you in, make sure the rest of the card benefits are worth it. In August 2026, USA Today ranked the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card the best travel and hotel credit card for 2026. Chosen by points and miles experts and ranked by readers, USA Today's annual top 10 hotel credit card list is a who's who of American hotel chains, but the intro Wyndham card has reigned supreme since 2021, beating cards from brands such as Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and IHG. 

Many hotel credit cards offer similar perks such as boosting your loyalty status and favorable redemption rates at their hotels. The automatic Gold status of the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card gives you perks such as late check out and room selection. You'll also earn a respectable three points for every dollar spent on gas, dining, and groceries. But it also goes beyond the basics, offering benefits that few of the other cards have. For starters, it has no annual fee, a perk that only one other card in the top 10 shared, and its points can be redeemed in several ways, including on gift cards, making its rewards more flexible than most.

One of the most significant differentiators between the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card and other brands' counterparts is its favorable welcome bonus. Those points can then cover as many as 10 free nights at Wyndham properties around the globe, from Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach in Florida to Wyndham Alltra, the first all-inclusive Wyndham resort in Mexico. Wyndham has a fixed three-tier redemption rate system, so you'll find rooms for 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night. Stretch your points to cover more nights at more affordable hotels, or save them up to cover a single, more expensive stay. Alternatively, take advantage of Wyndham's partnership with Caesars Rewards and enjoy a 1:1 points transfer relationship, making it easier to pool and redeem your points faster.

Even the best hotel credit cards have downsides, though. For the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card, you have to reach an annual minimum spend on the card to qualify for a free anniversary night, a perk that's included without conditions on most other hotel cards. Another downside is finding a comfortable property.
