America's Most Scenic Marina Of 2026 Is A Wisconsin Gem That's Nicknamed 'The Cape Cod Of The Midwest'
America officially has a new most beautiful marina — at least according to one study. Egg Harbor Marina in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, was recently awarded the accolade by Captains Preferred Products, a company that makes various products and supplies for boats. Their researchers plumbed data from TripAdvisor to find the most beautiful marina in the country, scouring the reviews of dozens of locations, looking for a handful of specific keywords. Each marina was given a score based on what percentage of its reviews called it "breathtaking," "scenic," "gorgeous," "stunning," "picturesque," or made note of its "beauty." Just over 55% of Egg Harbor's 127 TripAdvisor reviews mention one or more of those keywords, and so it takes the prize: It's the most scenic marina in the U.S.
Located on Green Bay, and only 60 miles from the city that shares that name, Egg Harbor Marina was most recently renovated in 2010. Its history with shipping dates back to the 1800s, though, and it has long provided the town with access to the bay. It's hard to argue its new title once you've seen Egg Harbor Marina. It's located on the east coast of Green Bay, facing the west, and offering perfect vantage points for tremendous sunset views. The marina's water is as clear as crystal, and dense tree lines cover its shores. There are also limestone sea caves nearby that can be explored by paddle boats. With exactly 63 piers to dock at, the marina offers ample space for boats up to 50 feet long. Whether you're into boating, fishing, or just sightseeing, Egg Harbor Marina's beauty is easy to enjoy.
This beautiful bay town shares more than a little in common with Cape Cod
Egg Harbor is celebrated for its galleries and golf, but it's poised to level up with tourists after its latest accolade. Despite its small size, though, it shouldn't be a surprise that it would be rated the most beautiful marina in the country. It is, after all, in Door County, which has long been called the "Cape Cod of the Midwest." And like that New England cape, the peninsula that Door County sits on sticks out into a large body of water. For Cape Cod, it's the Atlantic Ocean, with Cape Cod Bay and Nantucket Sound sandwiching the thin strip of land. Egg Harbor and the rest of Door County reach out into Lake Michigan, separating the Big Lake from Green Bay (the body of water, not the town that's named after it). With 300 miles of coast, Door County features the same charming attributes as Cape Cod: adorable villages, great food and drink, and tons of fun stuff to do. The town of Egg Harbor, home to the marina, is among them. Egg Harbor isn't the only underrated town on Lake Michigan, either.
When it comes to food, Casey's BBQ & Smokehouse's sizable patio lets you watch the water while chowing down on pulled pork, beef brisket, baby back ribs, and other BBQ favorites. Shipwrecked Brew Pub has been serving original craft beers and bar food since 1997, and Village Cafe is celebrating 25 years as locals' all-day breakfast spot of choice. If you want to book a stay at Egg Harbor, The Ashbrooke Hotel is an adults-only inn that's ideal for romance, while resorts like The Landmark and The Landing are spacious, all-ages retreats with amenities for the whole family. Egg Harbor is also full of unique boutiques, gift shops, and marketplaces, whether you're looking for clothes, trinkets, mementos, or groceries. Like Cape Cod, Egg Harbor and Door County aren't just about the water: The region is an all-encompassing vacation destination — one that can now brag about having the most scenic marina in the country.
