The Highest-Grossing Restaurant In The US Is A Florida Hotspot

Miami is one of the best food cities in the United States, offering luxury restaurants, tasty food trucks, and a unique culinary scene with a Latin American influence. It's no surprise that the highest-grossing independent restaurant in the U.S. is located in Miami, Florida: MILA, a Miami Beach hotspot that blends Mediterranean and Asian influences in its menu. Located a short drive from luxury hotels like the Gabriel South Beach — which has a glass-bottom rooftop pool that's as iconic as the beach it overlooks — MILA attracts a chic clientele including celebrities and influencers.

MILA topped Restaurant Business' annual list of the Top 100 independent restaurants for 2025, published in December. That year, MILA made over $51 million in sales and served over 271,000 people. The average check was $188, which makes this restaurant a splurge for many, but it's not out of reach compared to some of Miami's other luxury restaurants. MILA is divided into four separate "concepts": the original MILA Restaurant, the 10-seat sushi spot MILA Omakase, the nightlife hotspot MILA Lounge, and the members-only MILA MM.

"Miami is an incredibly competitive market, but MILA stands out because we offer something holistic," founder Gregory Galy said in an official statement, per Time Out Miami. "It's not just about food; it's the full sensory journey: the design, the music, the service rhythm, the brand aura. We are proof that creativity and discipline can coexist beautifully."

What to expect at MILA

MILA is in the heart of Miami Beach, a short walk from Flamingo Park, a lively park with plenty of shops nearby, and South Beach, a trendy beach paradise full of nightlife and tasty eats. MILA first opened in 2020, and it added MILA Omakase, MILA Lounge, and MILA MM in 2023. The decor and lively scene (featuring DJs and fire dancers) is as carefully designed as the food and cocktails. In 2024, MILA was named the most beautiful restaurant in Florida on a list from People and OpenTable.

If you're interested in visiting MILA, reservations are recommended. There's a smart casual dress code featuring a long list of prohibited clothing items, so make sure you wear an appropriate outfit. Each of MILA's "concepts" has a different menu. At time of writing, the primary MILA restaurant offers "MediterrAsian" fusion with entrees ranging from $38 to $365, and the menu at MILA Lounge is similar. MILA Omakase offers multi-course meals, ranging from $195 to $545 per person. Members who are able to dine at MILA MM are promised "an exquisite and thoughtfully curated tasting journey."

Along with its accolades, MILA has a 4.7-star rating on Google reviews. One reviewer writes, "The dinner was excellent from start to finish. The food truly lived up to the price, which isn't something I say often in Miami's fine-dining scene. Every dish felt thoughtful and well executed, not just pretty for Instagram." They conclude that it's "definitely one of the few high-end spots in Miami I'd happily go back to."
