Experience

Marie has been writing for over 14 years. She started her editorial career as a study/travel magazine intern back in 2010, writing language and linguistics news articles, and soon adding lifestyle and travel photography to her roster. Fifteen years later, she has walked, driven, flown, train-traveled, and hitchhiked across Europe and America, and worked for titles such as House & Garden UK, The Times, The Independent, Marie Claire, and Vogue, writing everything from full-length features to punchy travel guides. She resides between London and a Scottish island - an avid outdoors girl on a never-ending quest to get the British Mountain Rescue services the recognition they deserve. Additionally, she qualified as an open-water lifeguard in 2020 as a safety net for extreme exploring! Marie is endlessly fascinated with natural symbiosis and how humans interact with nature, and endeavours to write about it and photograph its processes wherever the wind takes her. Her dream adventure almost always includes mountains, water, and yoga, with seasonal rotations of: a good campfire, cinnamon-anything, stargazing, and lemon sorbet.
