Solo Female Travel, European Destinations, Ecotourism
- Marta's first solo trip to Portugal in 2019 transformed the way she views travel, shifting from merely moving from one place to another to experiencing it as a cathartic journey of self-exploration and connection to be savoured and shared with others.
- Since then, she has explored 30+ countries across Europe, Africa, and North America, including remote, off-the-beaten-path spots as well as more popular destinations, always striving to embrace slow tourism when possible and seeking to truly connect with each place rather than simply passing through.
- As a foodie and a plant-based eater, she delights in discovering local cuisines and exploring how traditional ingredients can be reimagined to meet the needs of both people and the planet.
Experience
Writing has always been Marta's way of making sense of the world. While she initially pursued a career in international relations, the stillness of the pandemic gave her the space to gain clarity and reconnect with what was truly calling her — travel, her lifelong wanderlust, and the stories waiting to be uncovered along the way. Over the past five years, she has written in both Italian and English for several noteworthy travel websites, luxury travel magazines, and sustainable tourism platforms, bringing her unique perspective and personal experiences to each piece. Looking ahead, Marta is excited to keep embracing solo traveling and discovering new horizons, with Australia and New Zealand next on her bucket list.
Education
Marta received her master's degree in European and International Studies from the University of Trento with the highest honors. Her academic background focused on international politics and environmental issues, providing her with a deep understanding of global dynamics, sustainability, and cross-cultural perspectives. These insights continue to shape her approach to exploring the world and writing about it.
