- Garrett developed and produced a travel show that was based in and around Cairo, Egypt, where he became very familiar with the local cuisines and tourist spots.
- He has traveled all over the world, and has published multiple travelogues and photo essays about his time in West Africa, Beirut, and Edinburgh.
- Garrett co-hosts and produces, "Agents of Travel", a podcast where he interviews comedians on their travel experiences and pitches them a trip based on their answers.
Experience
Garrett got his start travel writing for a Colorado-based newspaper, the Summit County Citizen's Voice, that published his travelogues and photos from trips to Mali, Lebanon, and throughout Europe. He grew up in Portland, Oregon and has lived all over the U.S. -- NYC, St. Louis, the Colorado Rockies, South Florida, and Los Angeles. He's worked and lived abroad for stretches in Edinburgh, Iceland, Lebanon, Denmark, and the UK. While in Egypt, he helped develop and produce a travel series for the YouTube channel Smosh, and earned a producing credit for the last installment of the Festival in the Desert in Timbuktu, Mali. He started with Static Media in September 2024, and currently writes for Daily Meal, Mashed, and Islands. As a seasoned traveler, Garrett loves to create travel guides for his friends. He believes the best way to meet new people while traveling is to learn about their hometown.
Education
Garrett has a bachelor's degree in theater from Principia College.
