Taylor began her journalism career at Franklin College, where she reported on Indiana politics and legislative sessions for The Statehouse File during the 2020 and 2021 sessions. After college, Taylor wrote for Current Publishing, covering the Hamilton County community. She later worked as a news producer at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where she highlighted destination-focused stories in Indianapolis, including the city's growing reputation as a major sports and entertainment travel hub as it prepared for a run at the NBA Finals, welcomed WNBA star Caitlin Clark, and hosted pop superstar Taylor Swift. She wrote community features for Towne Post Network and Current Publishing, covering local development and regional attractions in central Indiana, such as Connor Prairie and Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.
