- Reannon's love for learning new languages inspired her to live in and travel to almost 44 countries, including spending two semesters abroad in Germany, a summer working as an au pair in Austria, as well as stints teaching English in Japan and Guatemala.
- After reeling from a stunning loss, Reannon backpacked to the top of Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the continental U.S., which became the basis of her memoir, "Unattached: A Year of Heartache, Hiking, and Learning How to Love."
- When not writing, Reannon can be found exploring the quirky desert ghost towns near her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, and hiking and camping amongst the car-sized boulders in her favorite state park: Valley of Fire.
Experience
No stranger to being a local in a major tourist destination, Reannon grew up in Hawaii and lived in both Orlando and New York City before settling down in Las Vegas. She enjoys writing from a local's perspective and helping readers discover the hidden gems that lie beyond a city's stereotypes. Over the years, Reannon has written about Las Vegas for Business Insider, U.S. News & World Report, and Nevada Public Radio and has penned personal essays that explored themes of travel and identity for the Matador Network and Vagabondish. Prior to becoming a travel writer, Reannon spent several years working as a lifeguard at Disney World, as a gate agent for a major U.S. airline, and as a youth staff member on a cruise ship. Her "behind-the-scenes" experiences working in the travel and hospitality industry infuse her writing with a unique and nuanced perspective.
Education
Reannon has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from Cambridge University. She also has a certificate in graphic design from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
